Operation Florian, a UK Fire and Rescue Service humanitarian charity, is urgently looking for donors who could help replace their current van which is now over 20 years old.
Since 1995, Operation Florian have donated vehicles, equipment, supplies and expertise all over the globe. This work is only possible thanks to the dedication of volunteers and the donations made by members.
A crucial part of their work involves travelling to various sites across the UK to collect donations to send to communities in need. In order to do this, the charity has two vans. One which is located in the South of the country and one in the North West at the charity storage facility in Chorley.
Sadly, the Chorley van is now coming to the end of its life. The van has been with Operation Florian for the past 13 years, covering tens of thousands of miles collecting equipment all over the country as well as being a support vehicle for convoys to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia and Moldova.
In order to continue their vital work, Operation Florian is in desperate need of a replacement van, and is appealing to any individuals or businesses who could generously donate a van to the charity. This would enable volunteers to continue collecting donations from the North of the country for fire and rescue services around the world who are in desperate need of fire safety supplies.
Operation Florian are ideally looking for a hi-liner long wheel base van or a box van with a tail gate.
