The annual FIRE Conference returns on Thursday 13 November at the QEII Conference Centre in London, once again offering both in-person and online attendance to ensure the broadest engagement possible across the sector.
Delivered by the Institution of Fire Engineers, Fire Protection Association, National Fire Chiefs Council and the Fire Sector Confederation, this one-day conference brings together key voices from the UK and international fire community. Through a programme of plenary sessions, breakout discussions and expert panels, this year will concentrate on ensuring the built environment is fit for tomorrow.
FIRE Conference 2025 will include an early look at the UK’s new administration and what it means for fire safety policy and the construction of homes; planned changes to Approved Document B and the Building Safety Regulator’s updates; and rural and urban wildfire resilience, with an international panel exploring the latest global responses to this growing threat. Delegates will also hear reflections on the Phase Two Grenfell Tower report, and a compelling case study on the Moss Landing battery storage facility fire in California.
A panel discussion on the ‘engineers of the future’ will explore how we nurture and equip tomorrow’s fire safety professionals, while another session will review successful navigation of the planning gateways by a UK housing association.
In a joint statement, the conference planning team said:
“Collaboration throughout our industry is essential in a time of accelerating change and ever complicated risk. The FIRE Conference is a unique opportunity for our community to gather, hear from experts and influencers, and define the future of fire safety policy and practice. We’re thrilled to feature many global perspectives and voices represented in this year’s agenda.”
Breakout sessions will provide more focused discussion on topics including:
Delegates will benefit from dedicated Q&A time with speakers and over two hours of networking with peers, senior leaders and sector influencers, including sponsors Coopers Fire, Fire Chief and Consort Insurance, as well as exhibitors Lubrizol, Red Plug and Rapidrop.
