FIRE Conference returns with a focus on driving collaboration and cohesion

Kate Charman MCIM – Marketing and Communications Manager, IFE

The annual FIRE Conference returns later this year on 24 October with a packed programme addressing key issues from across the sector.

Developed and hosted by the Fire Protection Association, Institution of Fire Engineers, National Fire Chiefs Council and the Fire Sector Federation, the one-day conference will provide key updates and foster discussion and debate through a format of plenary sessions and workshops.

Key subject areas for this year’s instalment include why deregulation occurs and how we manage it, enforcement updates, emergency tactical response, future-proofing fire risk assessors and a focus on the Luton car park fire. Plans are also in place for the British Standards Institution and the Royal Institute of British Architects to host plenary sessions during the day.

Looking forward to the conference, Dr Gavin Dunn, FPA Managing Director, said: “With the introduction of the Building Safety Act and the changing nature of risk, it is more important now than ever that we work collaboratively across sectors, as only together can we successfully move fire safety forwards in an integrated way.

“Having assumed leadership of the FPA earlier this year, I am very much looking forward to my first FIRE Conference and building on the progress that has been made in recent years. The Conference provides a much-needed touchpoint for those who can influence change to consider approaches and solutions to the challenges we face as fire safety professionals so we can continue to improve the built environment through the convergence of life safety and property protection.”

On the back of another successful event in 2023 which saw over 500 delegates in attendance, FIRE Conference will continue its hybrid format, hosted both in-person at the IET, Savoy Place in London as well as online.

We are delighted to announce Redplug Group as the headline sponsor for this year’s event, in addition to other sponsors and exhibitors including Sentura Group (Firechief), Coopers Fire, Firefly, Adexon and Distinction Door. We are also pleased to confirm that the Worshipful Company of Firefighters will host their annual fundraising dinner at the IET directly following the conference.

Conference tickets are now on sale and sponsorship packages have been selling fast with workshop partner opportunities and exhibition stands remaining. Further details of the event, including the programme and sponsorship costs, will be available on the organisers’ websites.

We look forward to welcoming delegates to what has become a vital annual conference to discuss, debate, share knowledge and drive progress in an era of fundamental change and reform.
