The United Kingdom Emergency Robotics Responders Organisation (UKERRO), is a recently formed organisation established by emergency services and volunteer search and rescue practitioner pilots with the main aims as follows:
• To foster collaboration among the emergency services and volunteer organisation drone/robotics teams, creating a community that thrives on shared knowledge and expertise
• To serve as a platform to exchange insights, discuss best practices, and learn from each other’s experiences
• To strive to enhance understanding and build strong networks that transcend traditional boundaries through live events, workshops and specialist training sessions.
Membership is open to anyone with the any of the following criteria:
• Any individual above the age of 18, serving in the UK emergency services or volunteer organisation drone/robotics pilot/operator
• Any individual not in the above category, that the Committee believe will further the aims of the organisation.
In support of the above aims, UKERRO will facilitate a yearly event known as the UKERRO Emergency Robotics Summit.
The UKERRO Emergency Robotics Summit 2026, is UKERRO’s second event which although unique in the UK, has been built upon from a number of previous low key events of a similar nature over the past 4 years.
This event will:
• Incorporate as many of the UK’s emergency and Volunteer search and rescue services as possible
• Include all forms of robotics including air, ground, on-water and submersible
• Provide an opportunity to participate in realistic have-a-go scenarios in realistic training rigs which will be facilitated according to discipline (USAR, SAR, Law Enforcement, internal and external)
• Include National Institute of Standards and Technology UAS Test Methods stands
• Host guest speakers from the UK and internationally
• Host a number of robotics related manufacturers and organisations
• Provide the best opportunity available, to bring practitioners, organisations and industry together to showcase the latest in technology and to develop robotics capabilities and response operations in order to save lives and minimise risk to responders.
