Dräger, an international leader in the fields of medical and safety technology, is strengthening its leadership team with the appointment of Matthew Evans as Head of Government for UK and Ireland. He will oversee Dräger’s safety technology portfolio across fire, defence and security, police, ambulance and the wider public sector.
Matt, who has had a 15-year career at Dräger, began his career as Product Manager in Breathing Apparatus, and has since gained valuable experience across Dräger’s fire and rescue and defence and security divisions. Most recently he has been in a global advisory position, where he also acted as International Programme Director, supporting key defence customers and strengthening Dräger’s delivery and strategic partnerships.
The new role marks a shift from advisory responsibilities to a more hands-on leadership role within the UK and Ireland. Matt will focus on accelerating execution, strengthening customer relationships and ensuring Dräger continues to deliver effectively for public sector organisations.
Matt says he is excited to step into his new role:
“Having worked across global functions, I’m eager to bring that experience into a more operational role. There is enormous opportunity for Dräger in the UK and Ireland to build upon Dräger’s market leading reputation and our heritage within the public sector. I’m looking forward to working with the team to further understand our customer’s pain points, and build effective solutions.
“This role gives me the opportunity to get truly hands-on and make an impact.”
David Head, Sales & Marketing Director (UK and Ireland) at Dräger, who Matt will report to, says Matt will be a valuable asset to the team:
“Matt’s breadth of experience across Dräger makes him ideally positioned to provide a valuable layer of leadership support that will strengthen our offering to government customers in the UK and Ireland.”
The appointment reflects Dräger’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its support for government agencies and emergency services, ensuring they are equipped with high-quality, reliable solutions that protect and save lives.
Matthew stepped into the role as of the 1st of January 2026.
