Max Lakkonen (IFAB), president of the International Water Mist Association (IWMA) has announced that the 24th International Water Mist Conference (#IWMC2025) will take place in Manchester, UK, on the 24th and 25th September 2025. The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
The event schedule is now available on the IWMA webpage. The first important date is 15th January, when the call for papers will be issued, and sponsors can begin booking tabletops for the exhibition, which will run alongside the conference.
Max Lakkonen shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming IWMC2025, stating:
“We want to further improve the conference by focusing more on case studies and diverse applications, in addition to research. We have received feedback that previous conferences leaned too heavily on research, and we are committed to addressing this.
I am confident that we can make next year’s event in Manchester a great success, fostering even stronger connections within the industry and continuing to share knowledge — IWMA’s primary mission. And of course, we will not forget to have a good time together!”
The deadline to submit applications for the Ragnar Wighus Award is 31st March. In 2025, this prestigious award will be presented to the author of the best Ph.D. thesis related to water mist technology. The IWMA Scientific Council, chaired by Bogdan Raciega (Baltic Fire Laboratory), will evaluate the submissions. The winner will be invited to present their thesis at the conference.
