Axess International Limited has been appointed as a CADEX® UK distributor for the Emergency Services and Professional Two-Way Radio sectors, supporting UK organisations that rely on mission-critical radio communications and large rechargeable battery fleets.
The appointment will see Axess supply and support the CADEX® C7400-C Series Battery Analyser to police forces, ambulance services, fire and rescue services, and professional radio users across the UK.
Emergency services rely heavily on TETRA two-way radios operating on the Airwave network. These radios remain a critical operational tool for frontline personnel, control room teams, specialist units and incident commanders. However, while radio hardware is routinely managed, configured and audited, battery condition is often much harder to assess with confidence.
For Airwave Communication Tactical Advisors, Airwave Tactical Advisors, Airwave Radio Fleet Co-ordinators and TETRA Radio Fleet Managers, one of the most persistent operational challenges is understanding the true health of batteries across the radio fleet.
A battery may appear to charge correctly but deliver poor runtime in operational use. In some cases, a single weak or faulty battery can be passed around the fleet, creating the impression that radios, chargers or multiple batteries are defective. Without accurate testing, organisations may replace batteries too early, keep poor batteries in service too long, or struggle to identify where the actual fault lies.
The CADEX® C7400-C Series Battery Analyser is designed to allow rechargeable radio batteries to be tested, conditioned and assessed regularly. The system can help fleet managers identify batteries that remain fit for operational use, batteries that require further maintenance, and batteries that should be removed from service.
By introducing a structured battery testing programme, emergency services can improve confidence in their TETRA radio fleets, reduce uncertainty around runtime, and plan battery replacement more accurately.
The CADEX® C7400-C is designed to service rechargeable battery chemistries including NiCd, NiMH, SLA, Li-ion, lithium-polymer and lithium-phosphate. The analyser supports programmable service routines, battery reports and battery service labels, and uses Cadex battery adapters to interface with a wide range of battery types.
Currently supported radio batteries include batteries for Motorola MTP3000/MTP6000, MXP600, MTH800 and ST7000 radios; Sepura STP8, STP9, SC20, SC21, SC23, SRP8000, SRP9100 and SDP600 radios; and a number of other radio models and battery types.
Custom battery adapters are available for specific battery shapes, with universal battery adapters available where a custom adapter is not available.
Axess is already a well-established supplier to the UK emergency services sector, providing batteries, chargers, earpieces and accessories for two-way radio users. Its existing relationships with police forces, ambulance services and fire and rescue services make it a logical route to market for CADEX® battery analyser products.
For many emergency services customers, purchasing through Axess may also reduce administrative complexity, as the company is already an approved or recognised supplier within many organisations.
“Axess is delighted to be appointed as a CADEX® UK distributor for Emergency Services and Professional Two-Way Radio. As a major UK distributor of accessories for two-way radios, the CADEX® C7 Series analysers fit naturally into our portfolio and give our customers a practical way to test, maintain and manage radio batteries throughout their service life.”
“Our emergency services customers rely on their radio batteries every day, but many do not have an accurate way to test battery condition across the fleet. The CADEX® C7400-C gives Airwave Communication Tactical Advisors and radio fleet managers the ability to test batteries properly, build confidence in their battery stock, and plan replacements based on evidence rather than guesswork.”
“The appointment of Axess International Limited is a logical step for the CADEX® brand in the UK. Axess brings strong industry knowledge, an established customer base and a trusted reputation across both the Emergency Services and Professional Two-Way Radio sectors.”
“CADEX® battery analysers complement Axess’ existing portfolio of radio batteries, chargers and accessories. Together, we can give emergency services customers a more complete battery management solution, helping them test, maintain and replace radio batteries using clearer condition data.”
The CADEX® C7400-C is suitable for emergency services organisations operating TETRA radio fleets, as well as wider professional mobile radio users who need reliable methods for testing, maintaining and managing rechargeable radio batteries.
Axess will focus initially on emergency services customers using TETRA and Airwave radio fleets, with further activity planned for the wider professional two-way radio sector.
